About the Game:
By 1973, American combat forces had largely withdrawn from Vietnam, but the war was far from over. The ceasefire agreements signed in Paris provided only a temporary pause as both North and South Vietnam prepared for the conflict's final chapter.
Fall of Saigon explores this crucial period, allowing players to continue the struggle beyond the original Fire in the Lake timeframe. The expansion introduces three new scenarios that can begin before the Tet Offensive, on the eve of the Easter Offensive, or cover the entire war from 1964 through to the collapse of South Vietnam. A dedicated two-player scenario, Black April, focuses specifically on the conventional battles between the NVA and ARVN during the final campaigns of 1975.
To reflect the changing nature of the conflict, the expansion introduces new mechanics representing Paris Peace negotiations, shifting US policy, growing anti-war sentiment, and increasing war weariness in the North. Players must adapt to evolving political realities while managing military operations on an increasingly conventional battlefield.
Armoured formations now play a central role, with NVA and ARVN armour capable of rapid spearhead attacks and exploitation operations. New Event and Pivotal cards portray the political struggles in Washington, Hanoi, and Saigon, as well as the uncertainty and chaos surrounding the final collapse of South Vietnam.
For solitaire enthusiasts, Fall of Saigon also includes a dedicated card-driven non-player system, providing a challenging solo experience tailored specifically to this expansion.
